Back to Hyperspeed

Posted by Jeremy on 4:24 AM
Its a weird thing...  Jayme and I were talking last night that things are just now getting back to normal.  Things really haven't been normal for almost a year now.  Before I deployed it was all about getting ready for the unknown, getting ready to leave, and getting ready to be apart for 4 1/2 months.  So then it happened, I was deployed, things went pretty smoothly, and time went somewhat fast, fast enough atleast. then I get back, ofcourse things are really weird.  We are both two different people who have been doing everything alone and seperately for so long ( I really couldn't imagine being in the Army/Marines, doing this every other year for a year!) but then you try to get back to the "New Normal" they call it in the "Re-integration" briefings.  But it didn't go as smooth as we wanted, there wasn't any normal. I came back went to work for a week, then had my 2 weeks off.  Then I went back to work for another week or two and then went to ALS.  Still no normal.  All this time the days are really creeping by.  Then Jayme's dad came over and we went to Paris, and its still like I could feel every second go by.  Now that I have been back to work for a month now, It happened without me even realizing, Im back to Hyperspeed.   This whole month is gone without even knowning what went on.  Not that anyone wishes their life away, but I think its crazy that your mind knows times that you want to get to and speeds up and slows down to help you really enjoy the things that matter.  I don't know, it could just be me and the military lifestyle that has really showed me what to be appreciative for and what not to take for granted.
