A New Start a year later...

No kidding, and I'm not playing around with these dates... I am sitting down to start writing this blog. I started it a year ago today.

I really have to get all of the incredible things the God has done over and over and over out of my crazy head.

Today, I'm just going to start with the latest events. I will preface the whole situation with this:

Currently, I have just left a job with CNPIntegrations.com. Honestly, it was one of the most incredible job opportunities I was ever blessed to have. It was a very intense project management, production management and web development position. I couldn't say enough about how great it was, and how much experience I got while doing the job. I personally worked myself silly, but that is a whole other blog. :D

So, I just left this job for another great opportunity. I felt unbelievably blessed to be able to change jobs and continue to move forward in an economy like it is. That is the key to this story today really. The fact that in today's economy, almost the highest unemployment rates in the history of the US I am leaving a perfectly good job for another one.

During my transition we have been looking for houses in the Columbus, Ohio region of the US. We currently live in north eastern ohio, so the move wont be drastic, but enough. We are looking to buy our first home and over the past 4 weeks we have been trying to find "Our Home".

::Rewind a little bit::
Over Christmas we were really trying to figure out what was happening with our living situation, since our lease is up in April at our house in North Eastern Ohio. We started looking for homes in the Columbus Area, because we really felt God was leading us there to a great church, www.highpointnaz.org . We went there and actually met some old friends, high school and college style friends. We met new people and some of the old friends had more connections throughout the Columbus Area.

We went on with our lives, and I took an interview with a company down there in Columbus. It was completely out of the blue, and would get me back into the Government arena, so I was definitely up for it.

Things went on, I didn't really hear anything back about this interview. I seemed to think that I totally had the job when I left because it was a great interview and I hoped I would fit it great there.

I also do some consulting work for www.npma-fuelnet.org and the connections I have made through there has really kept moving forward as well. I get a e-mail one morning to basically pick a government job that I wanted and it would be done, but I would have to move to Northern Virginia. No kidding, so we start looking at homes in Fredericksburg, VA. I had a VA Doctors appointment later that day, so I went, and on the way home from Cleveland I got the call from the interview letting me know I was getting an offer. That pretty much sealed the deal for us, that we had bee praying for God to show us where he wanted us to go, and the minute we stop thinking about it, it happens.

So on Friday Feb 13th I received, signed and returned the offer within a half hour. We were really excited, but we needed to move in like 45 days. So, we called up our realtor and Monday we were going through houses. We found one we really loved and the next day put an offer down on it. The Neighborhood was amazing, it has a brand new elementary school in it, a neighborhood pool, its still a new and growing neighborhood, so we had to get in that area.

::Fast Forward:: FOUR WEEKS! and we still havent gotten an accepted offer or anything back. long story short, its a short sale, not a foreclosure, but a short sale. Needless to say, we had to look for other options. We go back into that neighborhood, and look through some of the new listings.. I mean.. its been a month.. so we find these 5 homes we like from the internet and go look. The first one was a brand new build, absolutely beautiful, and 4 bedrooms, and everything you could ask for. We pulled the other offer and put an offer to the builder on this one.

We know God is in it, because we looked at 11 other homes in the area, and these two are in that neighborhood, along with another couple we might offer on if we cant get this one, but this one would be "Our Home" and no one elses!

Jayme and I talked on the way home about how blessed we are, that we really don't deserve the things He gives us, at all. We dont want anything like this to go to our heads, we have to constantly give God the glory for how blessed we are every day!

This brings me to my daily reading..

Proverbs 16:

1 To man belong the plans of the heart,
but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue.

2 All a man's ways seem innocent to him,
but motives are weighed by the LORD.

3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed.

4 The LORD works out everything for his own ends—
even the wicked for a day of disaster.

5 The LORD detests all the proud of heart.
Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for;
through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil.

7 When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD,
he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.

8 Better a little with righteousness
than much gain with injustice.

9 In his heart a man plans his course,
but the LORD determines his steps.

10 The lips of a king speak as an oracle,
and his mouth should not betray justice.

11 Honest scales and balances are from the LORD;
all the weights in the bag are of his making.

12 Kings detest wrongdoing,
for a throne is established through righteousness.

13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips;
they value a man who speaks the truth.

14 A king's wrath is a messenger of death,
but a wise man will appease it.

15 When a king's face brightens, it means life;
his favor is like a rain cloud in spring.

16 How much better to get wisdom than gold,
to choose understanding rather than silver!

17 The highway of the upright avoids evil;
he who guards his way guards his life.

18 Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall.

19 Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed
than to share plunder with the proud.

20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is he who trusts in the LORD.

21 The wise in heart are called discerning,
and pleasant words promote instruction. [a]

22 Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it,
but folly brings punishment to fools.

23 A wise man's heart guides his mouth,
and his lips promote instruction. [b]

24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

25 There is a way that seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death.

26 The laborer's appetite works for him;
his hunger drives him on.

27 A scoundrel plots evil,
and his speech is like a scorching fire.

28 A perverse man stirs up dissension,
and a gossip separates close friends.

29 A violent man entices his neighbor
and leads him down a path that is not good.

30 He who winks with his eye is plotting perversity;
he who purses his lips is bent on evil.

31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor;
it is attained by a righteous life.

32 Better a patient man than a warrior,
a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.

33 The lot is cast into the lap,
but its every decision is from the LORD.

Whoa... For real.. Watch your motives, Watch your Tongue, Watch your pride, Listen to Instructions, Be Patient. It goes way beyond that, but you can find what it means to you.. Thats between you and God, what he wants you to get out of that. But I know what he was telling me!

God is good.

I gotta get to tending to the kids this week.. Jayme has a big test, and I am on "Vacation" until I start work next week.
